Rescuing isn't leading

That's me on Friday night, out with friends after a big week. Productive, fulfilling, the kind where everything actually got done.

Here's what made the difference. I didn't do it all myself.

For years I thought being available for my team was the same as being a good leader. Answering every message, picking up whatever had stalled. Turns out that's not leadership, it's rescuing, and it costs both of you more than it saves.
