A DAY OF LEARNING AND PLANNING AT CYPRESS LAKES
Hi {{ first_name | default: "there" }},
Last Thursday I spent a full day at Cypress Lakes with Deb Szabo, planning and learning, the kind of day that leaves you wrung out and lit up in equal measure. Then yesterday, first dip of the season at Shoal Bay (yes, still bracing).

Over the last three weeks we've named three traps: rescuing, correcting, reacting. All three come down to the same thing, a default running the moment instead of you actually choosing how to lead. So this week I'm answering the obvious next question, if those are the traps, what's actually on the other side of them?

It's quieter than you'd think. Not confidence, not charisma, not having it all figured out. It's a handful of small, repeatable choices, made in the exact same moments those traps show up.

REFLECTION QUESTION
“Of the three, rescuing, correcting, reacting, which one shows up for you the moment it gets hard?”

THIS WEEK'S TIP
Next time someone challenges you in front of the room, pause. Ask one question before you respond. That's the whole move.

QUOTE I'M SITTING WITH
“It's not about perfection. It's just a shorter gap between the default and the choice.” — Liz Murray

The leadership trap that looks like kindness
Coaching · Speaking · The Leadership Mirror · Contact   Some days the work isn't leading, it's remembering not to carry what was never mine to carry. That's not the issue. The issue is what "helping" has quietly turned...
